5 apps to get your finances in order

5 apps to get your finances in order. From simple tools to financial monsters

Financial apps can curb spontaneous spending and help you save and multiply your savings. But often, enthusiasm lasts only a month, and then the app is frustratingly deleted.
Perhaps the problem is too complicated a tool: financial apps have different functions, half of which only hinder the novice. To get more people into financial harmony, we’ve divided the apps into three difficulty groups. For convenience, we added user feedback to each application: it often turns out that the developers’ promises are only promises, and the declared functionality doesn’t work, or the purchase of the full version is required.

iOS / Android

«Тяжеловато» is a free app that finds out your monthly budget and tells you how much you can spend per day. Spending doesn’t need to be divided into categories, and once you exceed the limit, the app will calculate a new budget for the remaining days. The same will happen if you spend less: then the daily limit will increase.

iOS / Android

«Кошелек» won’t save you from spontaneous purchases, but it will help you spend less impulsively – the app stores all your discount cards. In the basic version of the app, you can save travel and bank cards.

To avoid wasting time typing numbers, cards can be added through the camera: the app will read the barcode and determine which store the card belongs to and the discount.

Price: free and full version (paying)
iOS / Android

Budget mode allows you to set spending limits to make it easier to reach your paycheck. It won’t block your card once you exceed the limit, but it will help keep you in check.

The paid version comes with new spending categories, support for multiple devices, the ability to keep track of accounts in different currencies, and a new design. And the app itself determines the types of regular expenses and doesn’t ask where to put the spending at the gas station or in a coffee shop.

There are many subcategories: transportation is divided into cabs, parking, fuel, and maintenance. To ensure you don’t forget to write down expenses, the app will remind you when you specify the atypical functions for such applications – interest calculation, search for ATMs, and tip calculator.

The full version works without ads. It will have more icons, export to excel and several accounts: it is convenient to divide the salary, which you receive by card and cash, or budgets of different family members.

CoinKeeper

Price: free; full version (paying)
iOS / Android

The app has collected all the basic and advanced features in an excellent design. To record expenses, drag and drop a coin from account to account or one of the expense categories. For self-monitoring, there are category limits: the app will resent and color the icons red if you’ve spent too much on shopping and coffee in a month.

The full version comes with new spending categories, regular payment reminders, and advanced statistics.
